Our Approach

Our education principles are based on the teachings of Hungarian Composer and Educator Zoltán Kodály.

Training for Music Practitioners

NYCOS works in a variety of ways to support music education at all levels, providing training for music practitioners, specialist and non-specialist teachers at primary, secondary, further and higher education levels.

Musicianship & Methodology

We offer online courses in Musicianship and Methodology where you can access training in the Kodály approach without leaving the comfort of your own home.

Resources & Publications

NYCOS publishes a series of resources for both specialist and non-specialist teachers and choir leaders. Our resources, which are suitable for all ages, are based on the educational principles and teachings of Zoltán Kodály.

Video Resources

NYCOS has developed a series of video resources that parents and children can use at home or can be adapted by specialist and non-specialist teachers to just use the clapping and body percussion elements.

Hiring Music

NYCOS has a large selection of music available to hire to suit a variety of singers – from Handel and Cunnningham to Britten and Kodály.

Kodály Summer School 2024

Kodály Summer School is open to all primary and secondary school music teachers, singing and instrumental tutors, education practitioners and anyone interested in music education.
