Description
Since time immemorial, mankind has been fascinated by the planets. Some people believe that they have a direct influence on our everyday lives, affecting our personalities and behaviour. Others think that they hold the secret to the origin of life and the future of our own Earth. The planets have always been a source of inspiration for composers, the best known being Gustav Holst, whose famous The Planets suite was written in 1916.
Following the success of The Saga of The Seven Days in 2006, NYCOS invited Scottish composer Tom Cunningham to write another cantata, Seven Planets and a Cosmic Rock. Once again he has teamed up with lyricist Derek Roberts who provides witty, interesting and thought-provoking texts.
