Tuesday 1 October saw the final presentation of NYCOS Hamilton Wee Sing, with P4s showcasing what they had learned following five weeks of singing and musical games. The project took place ahead of the launch of NYCOS Hamilton Choir which begins rehearsing from Tuesday 8 October at Hamilton Grammar School.
A parent of a Wee Sing participant said: “The sheer joy on the children’s faces last night spoke volumes. The sound achieved in such a short time was amazing.”
Ed Milner, NYCOS Chief Executive, said: “We’re thrilled to be opening a new choir in Hamilton which will bring singing opportunities to children in North and South Lanarkshire. Our growing network of Regional Choirs are part of a progressive musical pathway to give Scotland’s young singers great singing experiences which are fun and help develop musical skills.”
Primary 4 children are invited to join in a NYCOS Hamilton Choir rehearsal and take part in a taster session of singing and musical games.
